Accenture Life Trends ‘23

The report

The topic of Accenture’s 2023 trend report was “control and power.” Among the ongoing crises felt throughout the world, consumers were looking for certainty in an uncertain world. This report looks at how emerging technologies offer consumers a way to take more control and the implications of this new power dynamic for businesses.

The how

We developed a system for the publication which used excerpts from the text, along with additional visual parameters, to inspire the AI.

The resulting images were showcased by a minimal design that highlighted the text used as well as listed the additional parameters to make the method of “control” transparent.

The tools

At the time of the report, generative AI had become viable as a tool for reasonably quick, finely detailed image making. We felt this was the perfect metaphor for “taking control” in the brand-consumer relationship.

All images in the report where created using Midjourney, some with additional edits in Dall-E. There where very few that where touched up using Photoshop.

Our small team spent weeks making and editing hundreds of images with Midjourney and Dall-E.

The engagement

Although the deadline was tight, often it didn’t feel like work at all. Our enthusiasm seemed to come through the work and people responded. This report garnered more than positive feedback on socials becoming one of the most engaged with reports from Accenture of all time.
